Over the weekend my little sister went to a birthday party and brought home a small balloon kit. We opened it up and started experimenting with different shapes and twists. Finally I was able to make a dog or a poodle with the large bump on the head as you can see in the picture above. Next we were blowing up another balloon when suddenly we would blow it up half way and then it would all deflate again. We found out that it had a hole on the end of the balloon. So, I came up with an idea to cut that end off, since the hole was close to the end, and tie it with a knot. I then proceeded to blow the balloon up again and it worked. The funny thing was it blew itself up the opposite direction. It started at the end and blew its way up towards the pumper. I made sure to tie the second knot all the way at the end so that the balloon would have room for twisting and shaping. We also found out later that a bunch of the other balloons had holes in them too, so we did the same thing. It was probably a really cheep kit, but it made sense since it was given out at an eight year old party. Later that day I was also experimenting with another balloon and made a swan like bird. The only thing was that the neck wouldn't stay curved so that's why my hand is on the top of the swans in the pictures below. I made two of them one was a bit better than the other. Any ways I thought it was a fun craft to do especially for my little sisters.
