On Saturday, my church choir went to go sing at the woman's prayer breakfast at the Park Ridge country club. We sang three songs, got lots of applause, old ladies were crying and saying "that was beautiful!", we listened to two speakers, and we ate breakfast. It was a pretty fun morning. I had never been to the country club, and i had no idea what i was in for. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I walked in and I felt like I was walking into that castle in the Princess Diaries movie. We had to go up this spiral staircase with red velvet carpeting and a mahogany banister just to get to the banquet hall. The banquet hall was gorgeous too. It had fancy tables with silk tablecloths, an golden harp in the corner, long red drapes, fancy centerpieces, and extremely comfortable chairs. Now this was all fine and dandy, but the breakfast was this level of awsomeness (I'm using Maura's vocab here, from one of her previous blogs) times 20. First of all, the appetizers were miniature muffins and pumpkin bread. Just in case you wanted to have butter with your bread they supplied you with a plate of butter. But this was no ordinary butter. It was perfectly manicured to look like a dollop of frosting. I'll put a picture of it above. (i couldn't find a close enough picture, but in reality it was much prettier looking than the picture I found). My table made a solemn vow not to touch the butter, because it was just too pretty looking. Then we were served the most delicious breakfast I've ever had. It was Eggs Benedict on french toast, fresh fruit, and hash browns. I've had these things before, but this particular chef definitely knew what he was doing. It was just spectacular. I think I might just have to change my ideal career choice from author to surgeon or something, if it means being able to afford the country club. So, that was basically what I did this weekend, besides study for hours for social studies. This was definitely the highlight.

One time my church went there for tea and we ate in this really pretty room and there were plenty of yummy cupcakes and cookies and finger sandwiches (they didn't literally have fingers in them obviously) and stuff. Then I went for a walk on this really windy path that passed this pond with huge fish in it! The whole thing was in fact full of awesomeness
