Mr. Miller has this saying on his coffee mug that says "Science never sucks". He explained to us that this is referring to the fact that "suck" is not really an eligible word in science. Because apparently things aren't just "sucked" up. "But," he added after this explanation "It also means that science class literally doesn't suck." I strongly disagree. It's not that Mr. Miller isn't the best science teacher ever, I love the cool experiments we do, and he makes it as fun as possible. It's just that I don't understand any of it. Like, at all. And no matter how many questions I ask, and no matter who explains it to me, it just doesn't make any sense. It's all a mumble jumble of confusing explanations, experiments that look cool but I have no idea what we're doing, and a lot of math. But, to be honest, the math is the easiest part of science for me. And math is never easy for me. EVER. I swear to God, I still struggle with addition. I mean, I have to count 7+8 on my fingers. It's that bad. And if math the easiest part of something for me, than that thing must be impossible. Which, since in this case science is the "something", science is impossible. One time Mr. Miller was standing right behind me while I complained to Marisa: "This worksheet is so hard I can't even make up the answers!" So all in all, science does suck. And I see myself dropping down from accelerated biology at Maine South in the near future

Part of "not getting something" is often all in your head. The fact that you don't think you will get it creates a sort of mental block that makes you want to stop trying to understand it (I have experienced this myself, and the way I get over it is by getting interested in it, and doing my own research)
