The alarm was set for 8:15 am. I had to get up for some basketball practice. It was over at the high school only about 100 steps from my house. At 10:30 when I left, I headed home for some breakfast. Dunkin Donuts it should be. We headed to Dunkin Donuts and picked up a dozen donuts and 50 munchkins. I came home with the boatload of donuts and as soon as I arrived, Matt, Neal, Holbyz, Jack and I stuffed our faces with donuts.
About an hour later we went down to my basement to watch football. We watched a couple games at a time and soon were inspired to go play some football. But there was one problem... EXTREME THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS AND A TORNADO WARNING TIL 6 PM. It was raining hard and eventually stopped along with all the alerts for weather. The five of us took a football and walked over to the Maine South intramural area near my backyard. It was drenched and muddy. Perfect. Most of our clothes were gone and hangin on the fence and we ran to the mudpits with excitement. I was the first one to dive in and quickly the other four kids joined in. We played full on football for about a good hour in the mud and rain. It was only about 45 degrees so we were startin to develop hypothermia. Just kidding. But we were super cold. We then sprinted back to my house where we hosed off and dried ourselves with towels. It was awesome. Just wanted to let you guys know that if u are ever bored when there is rain or just has been raining outside, don't be afraid to get dirty while having a blast with all your friends in a friendly game of mud football!
