This weekend I had a falcons football game versus Wells Park. We are both 0-2 in the season and it was going to be a good game. On Saturday, I was excited for the game and was anxious to get out on the field. All day I thought about actually winning our first game and I would find out if that would come true at 6:00 that night.
When it came time to play, three other captains and I jogged out to the 50 yard line. Wells Park was calling the coin toss because they were the visiting team. They called heads and the coin was tossed high in the air. When it came down, I looked at it and saw it was tails. We told the referee that we would receive in the second half.
The three other captains and I ran back to the huddle of our team and then we ran out of a tunnel of players and cheerleaders. The fans were screaming and cheering for us. The game was finally here.
The ball was on the tee and the ref blew the whistle... WAM!! The ball was kicked and Wells Park picked it up and started to run. We made the tackle and the game was well on its way.
In the first half they scored twice but missed both extra points making the score 12-0 Wells Park. As the game reached half time our team was mad and ready to come out in the second half and beat them. We got the kick in the second half and pretty quickly moved our way down the field and scored. We made the field goal and it was now 12-8 Wells.
They got the kick and we stopped them on defense in only four downs. We again, made our way down the field and scored another touchdown. The falcons missed the field goal off the post and it was 14-12 good guys. The game reached the fourth quarter and as time rolled down on the clock it was looking good. A couple minutes later, we shook their hands as the winners of the game! We had one our first game! We walked off the field and got ready for the game after us to start. It was definitely the highlight of my week.
