Suggested list of things that make me happy? Alright. Hot chocolate on a cold day. Seeing people I haven't seen in a long time. Warm, soft bagels with peanut butter on them. When people are so passionate about something and they start talking about it and their voice gets really happy and they start talking really fast. Chipotle. Shamrock Shakes. People that enjoy what they do. Puppies. Not cats. Tumblr. Waking up to a nice text. My friends. I could list so much more but nothing comes to mind. Ultimately I love a lot of things and a lot of things make me happy.
One of the people I love most in the world and someone who has definitely made me the person I am today is my oldest brother, Marshall. He's 17 and soon to graduate high school and be off to start his life. I have never been a great writer, but I can put words on paper and make them sound like I know what I'm doing. My brother has always been a fabulous writer, and when I was about ten or so he started showing me the stories he wrote and I remember hoping that that ran in the family, because the kid is talented. I have never quite lived up to his standards, but I don't think I ever will. One of the things I liked most about his style of writing is that he feels it extremely impersonable to write on a computer versus pen and paper. It enhances his stories when they are written in his handwriting, while it may not be great I love seeing the little ways he writes his letters, and I love that about anything that's handwritten. Maybe that's why I like writing so much.
There are two movies I love more than any other movie in the whole entire world. The Breakfast Club, and The Marinovich Project. I would have to say the Marinovich Project is my favorite for so many reasons. I first saw it about six months ago, which was a very influential time in my life. Basically if I was introduced to something I loved it because I was trying to broaden my horizons, but after that crazy stage this movie is still my favorite. It's about a man named Todd Marinovich who was possibly one of the most talented football players to ever life. His father basically used him as an experiment, seeing how far someone could go if they were given the perfect environment. The perfect workouts, the perfect diet and being on the best teams. Well Todd went far. He was given a full scholarship for USC and eventually made it onto the NFL team, the Raiders. In sophomore year of high school, Todd started experimenting with drugs such as marijuana and in college, started doing things like cocaine. He struggled with the freedom of being on his own, after being so sheltered by his dad all of his life. Todd also struggled with the idea of what is right and wrong, and just because you're good at something does it mean you're meant to do it in life. It's a true story and it changed a lot of the ways I thought about sports. It's sad, but very very good. The Breakfast Club, I don't even think I have to talk about it because anyone has seen it knows why I love it. It's just a classic that I will forever love.
So I'm sitting in health class right now, and we're supposed to be researching diseases but I don't really care. My health teacher, although a very nice person, is extremely unobservant and easily half the class does their homework in this class. I decided to blog to let y'all know some stuff about my life. I got my transfer accepted to Maine East! I'm going to miss some of you but I know this is the right place for me and I'm ecstatic to get started. I'm going to join cheerleading and the mathletes and attempt to maintain a perfect GPA. It'll definitely be tough but i'm up for the challenge! Lately I've been either wanting to be a nutritionist or a math major, because I think both of those would be good careers that I enjoy doing. My dad has been telling me since I was four years old that I'm a surfer at heart and I truly believe that. I say things like gnarly, and go with the flow man and I'm really laid back. I'd love to move to Huntington Beach to go to college there, it's a surfing town. What a nice life, teach all day and surf all night. I also heard this perfect little song in case any of you care, that describes my situation lately. I've been pretty normal height all my life but lately I am very short. On The Bright Side by Never Shout Never is the perfect song to describe this situation. A quote from that song is "You're only as tall, as your heart will let you be, and you're only as small, as the world will let you seem." For those of you who experience shortness, you'll find comfort in
We have one more trimester to go guys! That's so crazy. I'm going to give it my all and finish strong this last trimester. Our last isats of Lincoln too! I hate those stupid tests, they're really easy for me. Plus, if they aren't going to be used for high school placement then why do we have to take them additionally onto the MAP tests? Ugh. Okay question of the week: do you guys have to have your tv volume on an even number..? I guess some people do but it really doesn't bother me at all. I thought the play we saw was really good! The actors were very professional and I loved how the scene changes were done so smoothly. I would definitely see it again on my own. :)
I think I'm going to develop an ulcer. I have read Jackie and Danny's blogs and apparently they feel the same way. I just feel like I'm doing ten million activities a day and I barely have any time to relax anymore and it's really getting to me. With only 12 days left in the trimester the teachers just try to cram every single thing in and it drives me crazy. Why can't they go at a steady pace? I also have to worry about the math placement test that's coming up because it largely determines what classes I'm going to be in in high school. I've also been told that if I do well enough on the exam I could start in geometry and skip algebra two. That's crazy! Teenagers are the most misunderstood generation because we're treated like children but we're expected to act like adults. I just really need like a week just to myself, just to calm down and be ready for the third trimester.
I have been so scattered lately. Doing a million things proves not to be good to me. I took like the hardest cognitive abilities test ever yesterday, it's for sophomores and they're giving it to eighth graders! I hope I did well though. All of this preparation for high school is making my head hurt and i need a break. Thankfully, THE WALKING DEAD COMES BACK ON TONIGHT!!!! Words cannot explain the excitement I have about that. Speaking of zombies, I saw
warm bodies yesterday! If you can deal with the zombie part of it, the love part was really cute:) I'm definitely one for not so traditional love stories, but I'd go for a horror movie any day. Mama was really good and I can't wait until another scary movie comes out! I'm also waiting for the snow to melt. urghh. I went shopping yesterday and got a lot of summer clothes so I'm really ready to move on to summer!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc4HGQHgeFE I am truly sorry that I'm not sure how to connect the video onto this but seriously guys this is a four minute video that is so worth your time. I think sometimes when you're sitting in your room at night and it seems like nothing is going your way you have to remember that this too shall pass and it could be so much worse. Life is just a lot of experiences and considering I only know a couple of you really well, you could be going through something at home that's really bad and I hope you know that we are all rooting for you :) I would love to get a tattoo someday that says "This Too Shall Pass" But back to the video. It's so refreshing to see someone that had every excuse to just sit back and let life pass him by and just say I can't do it. But he did do it. I would love to see this man speak someday.
Well as some of you might know, I've been diagnosed with chicken pox. I'm still really confused as to how I got this, because someone I came in contact with in the past two weeks either has it or is a carrier, so that's kinda weird. Also Barbara Walters has it too, go figure. But anyways, I noticed the spots appearing on Saturday and went to the doctor on Monday and its chicken pox. Since I got the two vaccinations, it's not as severe as it normally would be but I have little red spots all over my body. I don't have a fever and I'm feeling okay. I won't be back in school until Monday, but I just wanted to update you guys.
I'm way too obsessed with concerts. I spend too much money on them, I get too excited about them and I have way too much fun at them. I have seen like four concerts in the past four months. I saw Zac Brown Band, the Wailers, Carrie Underwood and Hunter Hayes and one more, can't remember which one. Lately my mom has been funding this habit but I'm scared she's going to cut me off. She bought me Lollapalooza and Country Thunder tickets, but I may have to buy my own Warped tour tickets. :/ They're just really expensive and I want to see famous people sing! Wouldn't it be nice if everyone put on free concerts? I really would like that. However, there's one concert I've been trying to find tickets to for literally years and I would do anything for them. FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE. Oh my goodness I want tickets for them so bad literally if someone got them for me I would literally marry them because they are my favorite band ever. I also want to go to a Fun. concert. :)
