This weekend I have had so much homework. We have our L.A. project, Sludge liquids and then regular math homework. When ever I have a lot of homework like this I break it down into small pieces and estimate how much time it will take me to complete it. I realize that this is a little strange but it makes me feel like I'm getting more done because it never takes me as long as I thought it would. I have already done my math homework and I'm blogging right now so that's out of the way but with my L.A project and Sludge left I have about seven and a half hours left! This is crazy, especially since I have a lot done on both assignments. I'm also kind of freaking out because some of my grades are lower than I want them to be and there is almost no way I can get them up. One of these grades is for WWW.LA. I wrote a paper on Charles Schulz (the creator of Charlie Brown) and I got a B, an 83 to be exact. This was one of my favorite papers I had ever written and I thought it was really good but since I didn't have in-text citations I had 10 percent taken off my final grade. David and I both had this problem and we are both really, really, really mad about this because we both could have gotten A's. I'm mostly upset because I received a much lower grade than I should have because I had written eight and a half pages of my best writing but almost none of the rubric was based on how well written the paper was. I know that an 83 isn't a bad grade but I think that my paper was worth at least a 90, it just stinks to know that I worked on this paper for over two months and I get 10 points taken off for such a in-text citations.
Unless you are a random stranger you know that we had freshman orientation at our soon to be high school. My cousin came with us because she offered us to show us around so we could see everything and so we wouldn't get lost. It was kind of fun and interesting but also confusing and overwhelming. There are so many electives I want to take and there just isn't the time to do them all. I have narrowed my choices down to three. I can take two because I am taking world history in the summer, I just signed up, it isn't full yet if you want to also. So my three choices are drama, CAD, and Art 1. I want to take drama because it sounds like an easy going class which would make it a nice break in my day. CAD is this architecture/drafting class that might sound boring to some people but it looks amazing to me. Art 1 is obviously an art class which I have taken so many of but I love it so much that its hard to not want to take it. I realize that some of you probably don't care what classes I want to take but it's just so exciting to me and I am interested to know what everyone else is considering. That's all for now but I think I will post a lot of blogs this week because I have a lot to say, I am just too lazy right now. (When I say a lot of blogs I mean like two or three more)
Last night I went to my friend's high school to see their production of Beauty and the Beast. My friend was just kind of background but she was a townsperson in a couple of scenes and Ginger in Be Our Guest (There was a group of girls who were different spices). Overall the play was really good, the costumes were amazing, the singers were fantastic and it was so good that I wish I could see it again. Beauty had the best singing voice, she didn't make a single mistake, and actually kind of looked like Belle. Beast had this really loud roar that made me jump but that made it more believable. Chip was played by the little sister of Mrs. Potts and it was really funny because there was a cart with a cup on top with a hole cut out where the little girl was so you just saw her face. Everyone was spectacular but Lumiere was by far my favorite. He was really good at his French accent and he did this little jumpy run thing ever time that he ran off stage that was hysterical, he had great stage presence and it turns out his parents were sitting right in front of us. I haven't seen many high school plays but this was by far the best one I have seen, I really wish I could see it again! |
