Recently, I've been having pain in my knee. At first we had no idea what it was. We went to the Physical Therapist and she did a screening. She wasn't sure what it was either. She recommended an orthopedic doctor for me. First I went to my regular doctor, but nothing really came from that. Then I took a trip to the orthopedic doctor. First they asked me a bunch of questions about the pain level and what I could and couldn't do without pain. Then, they took an X-Ray on my knee. I had to stand in some strange positions. One of the positions made me feel like I was doing the running man. Also, during the X-Ray, I got to wear some pretty fashionable shorts. Once I was back in the room, I got to look at my X-Rays. It was a little weird looking at my own bones. The doctor said that there's no obvious damage, which means nothing's broken. I also got to see my growth plate. Turns out I have a very minuscule amount of growing left to do. Anyway, because she couldn't see any damage, she said that it is probably a bone bruise, as a result from the terrible bruises I had earlier this year. Bone bruises aren't exactly bruises, but they are very, very tiny breaks in the bone. They can take a long time to heal. Luckily my knee isn't in crazy amounts of pain. My mom talked o my gym teacher, and she explained my situation. I only have a note for a week out of gym. My teacher said that because we are doing track and field and softball, I can pretty much take the rest of the school year off gym. I can't run on my knee, so I guess that's pretty reasonable. The only thing I am worried about is Hawkette tryouts. I'm nervous that my knee won't be better by the time tryouts come around. Even if it does hurt, I'll have to force myself to push through the pain, no matter how bad. Well, now you know more about my injury and how it affects me.
