This week for Spring Break, my family and I went to Austin, Texas. We rented a nice little house out in the country. Except out in the country in Texas is in the middle of a bunch of trees on big hills. Sadly, my sister couldn't come because she needed to stay home for school. The first day, we got to the house around six or six thirty. We didn't know what to do, so we went grocery shopping at the nearest Whole Foods. Being the teenage girl I am, I decided to look nice for grocery shopping. We didn't do much else that night. The next day we went into downtown Austin to explore. We walked along the river and through a park. Then we went down to the SoCo area. That's short for South Congress. Congress was the street where this area was located. We sat down to eat and I had the best burger I have ever eaten. It had meat (of course), cheese, onion, pickles, bacon, and bar-b-que sauce on it. It felt like I was eating heaven. Then we walked around. There were so many amazing stores and shops. I wanted to buy everything. My friend Maggie was also in Austin, so our moms talked and we decided to meet. It was so much fun. Maggie, her sister and I all walked around and shopped for a few hours. We went to a boot store, but these weren't just boots. This was a store with a thousand cowboy boots. Some pairs cost over $1,500. I don't know anyone who would pay that much for a pair of boots. I bought a pair, but they aren't very cowboy like. They have more of a combat boot style. We got some ice cream at Amy's Ice Cream, then me and Maggie parted our separate ways. On Monday, my family went zip lining. It was absolutely amazing. I felt so free and I felt like I was on top of the world. There were 5 total zip lines in the course, plus some hiking. One of the zip lines was over a half mile long, and it is the longest in Texas. It is also the 9th longest in the world. Then we went to a place called Oasis. We ate dinner and dessert there. The restaurant is built on a huge hill and looks over beautiful scenery. I watched a sunset that I will never experience again. It was absolutely stunning. On Tuesday we went to San Antonio for a day. We took a boat on the Riverwalk If you don't know what that is, it almost looks like Italy with a river going through an area with a bunch of restaurants. At the end was a very large mall we later shopped in. We also saw and went into the Alamo. It was so interesting to learn all about the history. On Wednesday, we had a relaxing day. We went to an outdoor mall area and I got the shoes I wore for the Easter church service and out to brunch. We went to an amazing sub shop. Then we got frozen yogurt and went home. On Thursday, we went to Sea World in San Antonio. It was a little chilly, so we didn't go on any water rides. It was cloudy all day and it even was spitting rain for a while. There were not many people there. We went on all the roller coasters and we saw three shows. We also saw dolphins, sharks, penguins, and puffins. It was so much fun! On Friday, we went back to the SoCo area and shopped a little more. Then we went to this awesome place for dinner. It's called the Broken Spoke. It was a stereotypical Texas honky tonk. First, we ate dinner(I had a chicken friend steak, voted best in town), and then came the fun part. We payed for dance lessons and then just dancing for fun. In the dance lesson, there were so many people. It was in a place that looked like a bar, and there were many neon signs. It was so old western looking. Lucky for me, I got to dance with my little brother. We learned how to dance the Two-Step. They put music on and we just kept dancing. Then after the lesson, we just danced with everyone else to the music. I danced with my dad, and it was too much fun! I wish I could do it again. Unfortunately, we had to leave on Saturday. Austin was absolutely incredible and I wish I could do the whole trip over again.

Wow! What a great vacation! I have been to San Antonio; the Riverwalk is very nice. Dancing the two-step is really fun; I had a friend in college who taught me- he went to these country bars and danced all the time.
