Two months ago, on July 15, a guy named PSY (short for psycho) published a song and music video called Gangnam Style. The song is practically all in Korean, but there are still a few words in English. Gangnam Style was the major song on PSY's sixth album. Now, just two months after the song and album were published, the song is known around the world. It has over 326 million views on Youtube, and it is the most popular song and music video on iTunes (remember that a majority of people who use iTunes are American, and the song is almost all Korean, so most people can't understand any of it). Ever since the song's release, PSY has been on Saturday Night Live, the Today Show, and on Ellen Degeneres. For any of you that haven't seen Gangnam Style, you have to see it. It is hilarious. Other than PSY, my favorite person is the little kid who is doing this crazy dancing right at the start of the video.
I thought they could do it. I thought that they would do it. I thought Michigan would beat Notre Dame. They really should have, considering they had more total yards and more first downs. Well, in the end, Michigan lost to Notre Dame, 13-6. It was very hard to watch because of all of the times that Michigan could have scored and actually pulled away from Notre Dame and won easily. Instead, they could never get the ball into the end zone, and they ended up losing. Michigan got the ball into the red-zone (inside the Notre Dame twenty yard line) five times, but they could never score a touchdown. They only converted two field goals and failed to score a touchdown or to get a field goal three times. One of their misses was because of an interception. Another one was because of a Denard Robinson fumble. The final missed attempt was because of a missed field goal.
In the end, Michigan really should have been able to win the game. Notre Dame could never really stop the Michigan offense until Michigan would give the ball to them. Also, Notre Dame really could not score on Michigan unless they started with the ball in Michigan territory. They really should have, but they Every year, Michigan plays Notre Dame early in the season. Michigan has dominated the rivalry in the last three years. Each year, Michigan has somehow pulled out a win in the last minute or minute and a half. Three years ago, Tate Forcier (the quarterback then) threw the game-winning touchdown pass with eleven seconds. Two years ago, Denard Robinson ran for the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute left. Last year, Michigan scored what seemed like the game-winning touchdown with 1:12 left. Then, Notre Dame marched down the field and scored a touchdown with 30 seconds left. It seemed like it was over, but somehow, Michigan got all the way down to the Notre Dame sixteen yard line with 8 seconds left. Then, with 2 seconds left, Denard Robinson threw a touchdown pass to win the game.
Today, Michigan has been having trouble holding onto the ball. Through two and a half quarters, they have turned the ball over to Notre Dame six times. Notre Dame leads Michigan 10-0. Denard Robinson, the man who has been giving Notre Dame so much trouble the past couple of years, has thrown four interceptions and just gave up a fumble at the Notre Dame 20 yard line. It looks like Michigan will need some magic from Today, I was trying to find something to write about when I realized that I did not do even one summer blog, and because of that, I should write about my whole summer, which is exactly what I am doing. This summer, my family and I went on a lot of trips. We went to Wisconsin Dells in June, we went on a long ten day road trip all across the midwest. We stopped in Austin, Minnesota, which is where the Spam Museum is. Spam is actually very good considering its name. We also stopped in Mitchell, South Dakota, where we saw a real rodeo. We also went to Custer State Park and Badlands National Park. While we were in the Badlands, we saw lots of prairie dogs and buffalo. (The picture in the top right is of a prairie dog and the one at the bottom is a buffalo.) At Custer State Park, we stayed at the Sylvan Lake Lodge. As you can probably ntell, there is a Sylvan Lake, and we were able to swim in it a lot. In the lake, there were a lot of gigantic rocks jutting out of the lake, and we were able to jump off of them. Our final two stops were in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and La Crosse, Wisconsin. In La Crosse, we were able to see a college summer league baseball game. Our final trip was to Glen Lake, Michigan. We stayed at Glen Lake for the last full week of summer vacation. While we were there, I saw my grandparents from Ann Arbor and my uncle from California. We did a lot of swimming, dune-climbing, frisbee tossing, and croquet playing while we were there. Those are the main thi Finally, I am doing my first ever blog post. I didn't do any during the summer, but now I have lots of things to talk about, including the Universityof Michigan football team. As you can see on my front page, I really like Michigan. I have been to two Michigan games in my life so far, and both of them have been wins for the Wolverines. My dad was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and lived about a mile away from Michigan Stadium. He has been a Michigan fan for his whole life, and so have I. So far, Michigan is 1-1. I have watched both games. They lost their first game on September 1st against Alabama, 41-14. It never seemed like Michigan was really in it, and by the end of the first half, Alabama had already pracitcally won the game. Luckily, Michigan;'s game yesterday got a better result. They beat the Air Force Academy 31-25. Denard Robinson, the quarterback for Michigan, ran for a seventy-nine yared touchdown on Michigan's second offensive play of the game. The picture in the corner is from the game yesterday. |
