Every year at around this time, an award called the Heisman Memorial Trophy is given out to the most outstanding college football player of the year. This year, that player was a freshman quarterback named Johnny Manziel, a.k.a Johnny Football. He beat out senior quarterback Collin Klein of Kansas State and senior linebacker Manti T'eo of Notre Dame. The one very special thing about him is that he is only a freshman. Before Johnny Manziel, no freshman in the history of college football had ever won the Heisman Trophy. I was very happy that Johnny Manziel won the Heisman for another reason: He beat Manti T'eo. The reason that I am happy about this is that T'eo is from Notre Dame. Since I am a Michigan fan, I hate Notre Dame. Also, there has only been one player to have ever won the Heisman as a mostly defensive player. That man was Charles Woodson, who won the award in 1997 as a star cornerback for Michigan. Michigan won the national championship that season.

What does getting this award mean for him in the long run since he still has a few years of college left?
