Anyway, it was super nice to find all this stuff that was valuable to me long ago, and I think it's going to be really cool when we get letters mailed to us at the end of Freshman year. Letters from ourselves that tell us all about what's valuable to us now, in eighth grade. I think it's really cool to look back and see how much I've changed and how much I've stayed the same, so I'm pretty excited to get these letters back at the end of Freshman year. But I should probably stop thinking about it, because it'll be cooler if I've forgotten about it by the time I get it back. :)
One of the things on my happy list was finding a bunch of old stuff that I'd forgotten about, like a little accidental time capsule. Well I found one today. I was looking through the storage room trying to find something, and I found this old basket that I used to keep in my room, filled with stuff I had forgotten about. I don't know when I put it back there, but it must have been a long time ago, because I hadn't seen this stuff in a loooong time. This is the basket with a lot of the stuff taken out: There was a lot of stuff in there; more than I thought could fit in one basket. Among some of the things I found were a stack of Yugi-Oh cards (or however it's spelled) that I'm pretty sure belong to our neighbors, and - well, I'll just show you. Yes, that's a First Communion doll. And a little bunny and a turtle and a duck and a chick and an old watch. And just about every chap stick I ever owned. Oh, and an envelope of "hard earned quarters" - aka, the allowance I used to get when I did chores. The envelope held an impressive two and a half dollars. Wow was I a helpful kid or what. I also saved a first place field day ribbon, and some cute old pictures. On of me as a baby, one of my friend and I on a birthday long ago, and some others. I think swimming goggles and Yugi-O cards were probably the weirdest things I found, but the most informative was the dog tags that I found. I think I got them when I went to a museum or something. They said Maura Lally, age 9. So this basket disappeared into my closet somewhere around 5 years ago. That's a long time. I also found a Blockbuster gift card, which is almost certainly expired.

Picture EditorAs you can see, Dusty helps with the pictures. :D Thanks for being so cute, Dusty! Also, don't get confused. Dusty had darker fur when she was little, but she was tan underneath! Nope, I don't have two dogs. Page PictureThe pictures on the top of this page and on my homepage are pictures I took at the Botanic Gardens, and I thought they went well with this theme, so.... yep!
