I'm always wanting to do something outside in the summer, whether it be badminton, playing with Dusty in the yard, just sitting down and 'chilling', or maybe helping plant some flowers. But the only thing I feel like doing when I walk into the yard is either jumping into a bucket of ice, or running back inside to the safety of the air conditioner and a roof blocking out the hot sun.
This brings me to another thought I've had. Before I tell you, you have to know something about me: I HATE cold weather. I absolutely can't stand it. You need all your big snow gear, and layers of clothes, and hats and gloves and scarves and so on and so on, until you're suffocating under layers and layers and yes - more layers of clothing that might fit you, but tend to squeeze you when shoved over other layers of clothing. However, this summer, one thing has occurred to me. Cold just might be better than heat, technically speaking. In the winter, you can put more layers on to protect against the cold. If you're still cold, you can always just pile on more layers until you're warm. In the summer, you can put less layers on, or wear shorts and sleeveless tops, but if you're still hot you can't just peal away your skin. There is a point where there are no more layers of clothing left to peal off, and you can't go outside with no clothes on, so your only choice is to suffer the heat and hope you'll find shade soon, or stay inside and do things like have snacks, take naps, and have some more snacks (or maybe blog :P)!
