Well, today was officially the end of the school year. I packed up all of my stuff, cleaned out a bunch of old files and junk, turned in my grades and my keys. The last several days have been so CRAZY busy; I'm pretty worn out. All of you looked wonderful at the Promotion Dance, we had a beautiful day for Great America, and Jackie's speech at the Promotion Ceremony was really awesome. (Mr. Nasshan even read some of it at our faculty/staff end of the year party.)
There were a lot of tears shed on Tuesday night. Mrs. .P, Mr. Miller, Mr. Nasshan and I shed some too. You all were a great group, really; you were. That makes a difference. We are sad to see you go but happy for you too. I would say most of you are really ready for high school, and there are some who will be ready in time for the first day in August. I hope you'll visit often!
With the weather being what it is, it doesn't really feel like summer yet. I'm sure it will get too hot soon enough though. Then I'll be out mostly in the early morning and evenings. The calendar for the summer is pretty full, but it should be lots of fun. We have a lot of variety: Italian camp, math tutoring, time in North Carolina at the ocean, and time out West on the ranch. We will add in some Chicago and Milwaukee excursions, a number of other fun things, and of course, some time to be "uncarved blocks". Of course, I plan on making all the crafts and cooking up the recipes I've pinned over the last few months! Right now it seems like we have all the time in the world, but I know that when July 4th arrives the pace of the days speeds up.
I hope to see some of you on our blog! I'll be here :)
