The Christmas Special is 7 days away! And from what I've read on Google+, there are going to be tons of changes. The Doctor gets a new companion, a new outfit, a new T.A.R.D.I.S. interior, a new theme song, and a new opening sequence. So far I like the companion, I'm not a big fan of the new outfit, it looks a bit too old school. I hope the theme song doesn't change too much, they haven't made any drastic change for 50 years, I hope they don't start messing with the traditon now. I like the new T.A.R.D.I.S look, it looks very alien, and very Matt Smith. Did I mention that there are going to be new cybermen? They look really awesome. I'll post as many pictures as I can below.
So, for those of you who didn't know, my younger brother recently fracured his femur while on a biking trip for boy scouts. He had this huge neon green cast, almost as green as my soccer uniform, that went almost all the way up his leg. He was reall discouraged because he is a kid who is always active, running around and playing outdoors as I play videogames inside. When the leg was broken, all of that changed. he couldn't play outside, and I had to be constantly helping him go up and down stairs and navigating the house. My mom also developed tennis elbow at the same time, so I was the only one who could lift his wheelchair in and out of the car. But today, he went to get a bone exam, everything checked out, and they sawed the cast of his leg. My mom then proceded to put the two halves on the Christmas tree, saying that it looked like the Grinch. I decided to post a picture of it here, to keep adding to my creepy pictures streak. The one thing I'll miss about the cast is getting to leave french class 10 minutes early to drive Jojo (Yes that's what we call him) to the office to get driven home. I also got to ride to school every morning instead of taking the morning bus, which is always full of lunatics. (Not as bad as the afternoon bus though) Overall, we're all gratefull that gis leg is fully healed, because he was lucky enough to fracture it near a growth plate, and if he had fallen over or somehow made it worse while he had the cast on, he could have needed surgery to allow his leg to continue growing. Can you imagine growing up knowing that your leg will always be the size it was in 6th grade? Man, I'm glad I'm not in his shoes. It's all fine now though! He can still have a merry castless I've decided to use this blog to notify all you people that I am blogging again!!! I don't really know what happened. I've been lazy, forgetful, and overall very irresponsible. (Thanks Franko) But that is going to change! I am ready to blog, I have several topics to blog about, and I hope I will still have just as many readers as I did before as I rapid-blog my way out of this miserable hole of despair.
Yesterday night, my family decorated our house for Halloween. We did what we do every year, my brother goes and buys new decorations, puts them up, my dad takes a nap, my mom makes food, and I find some old clothes, stuff them with leaves, duct tape them together, sit them down on a chair, give attach some old shoes to the pants, attach gloves to the jacket sleeves, and put a dinosaur mask in the hood. Last year I also rigged it's eyeholes with glowing eyes, so at night he blinks and winks at people. On Halloween, my dad usually pulls up a chair, puts on a mask and sits next to them, holding the candy bowl and scaring away anyone who takes to many pieces. But this year, after I stuffed him, my mom took my brother to dominicks and left me home alone while I put the finishing touches on who I am going to call Steve this year. It felt really serene outside, The sun was setting, the sky was full of pinks, purples and oranges, so I felt like sitting outside with Steve for a while. After about 5 minutes I got bored, so I just randomly decided that I would go inside and grab my guitar and play outside. So I found myself sitting outside on my front door in a lawn chair playing guitar and watching the sun set for about an hour. I felt like I was from the sixties or something. I got some odd looks from passing cars, after all, I'm out there playing an acoustic next to a stuffed guy in a dinosaur mask with blnking lit up eyes. You know, this all probably sounds really strange, so I'm going to go outside and snap a pic of Steve by our garage for you....2 IMPORTS LATER....I'm back! Enjoy these photos, and I look forward to any comments you may have! Ah the opening and ending themes of Doctor Who. They have been stuck in my head countless times. Why oh why must they make me wait so long for the next episode?! it's been only to weeks and I find my self today feeling like my Saturday isn't quite complete. No brand new exciting episode to look forward to, no popcorn to be made, no european website to be found and utilized for watching it hours before it comes out. I've posted several Doctor Who related items on G+, for those of you who use that. I can't wait for Christmas!!! Those of you who are new to the series, I strongly recommend tuning in this holiday season for the Christmas special. The Christmas episodes aren't usually very scary, and they are based around the Christmas spirit. If you do watch, and are confused about why the Doctor isn't very happy at times, it's probably because (SPOILER ALERT: IF YOU PLAN ON WATCHING THE SEASON 7 FINALE, SKIP THE NEXT FOUR SENTENCES) his two companions whose names you saw in the video, have recently been zapped back in time by weeping angels, and the doctor will never see them again. I miss Amy and Rory, his companions. They were awesome. The girl with the universe in her head, and the Roman centurian. Well, I guess I should just be excited for the next episode, where he is supposed to find a new companion. Also, for those of you who have only seen episodes from season 5,6, or 7, I suggest looking online or at libraries or video stores for the past episodes, so Franko will stop making fun of you. :)
So, last Friday in Social Studies we were discussing the Checks and Balances of the U.S. government, and I couldn't help thinking that the legislative branch is over powered. For those of you who have forgotton, here's a basic overview of the Checks and Balances: So this is how I believe that Congress could gain complete control over the U.S. government: First, they begin passing opressing laws. Both the executive branch and the Judicial Branch would intervene, but would be handled by congress impeaching the president, and then forcing the vice president to appoint all new members of the judicial branch that would believe in their cause. Now, from this point, the only thing that the new president could do would be to call in the armed forces. But when he would try to do so, the Judicial branch would deem it unconstitutional, and the legislative branch would impeach him, putting the Speaker of the House, (someone from their side), into office. Now I believe that the only reason this hasn't happened is because it would cause an uprising of the people against the government, obliterating the hopes of the evil Legislative Branch. This could be avoided in the future if people become too dumb to know about anything that is going on. This is yet another reason to continue to ensure the intelligence of the general poulation.
For, the past few days, we've been discussing 3-dimensional graphing. Mrs. Walters often talks of 3-D, 2-D, and 1-D objects. This has often caused my mind to wander. (often causing me to do poorly on my assignments) So I was thinking are all these objects phisically possible? I'm sure that 3-D objects are possible, after all, we live in a 3-dimensional world. But are 2-D objects phisically possible. It appears that they arent't phisically possible, but are posible in some picures and all virtual images. Paper isn't 2-D. I just want to clear this up. Mrs. Walters often refers to paper and drawings as 2-D. They're not. They have a length, width, and heigth. The height may be miniscule, but it cannot be ignored. the drawings too, were created with ink, which exists in 3 dimensions. Now, this got me thinking about whether or not 2 dimensional figures exist at all. i suppose they do, on screens, because the image itself does not take up 3 dimensions in space. The awesome warped space picture I posted has a length and a width, but I don't believe it has a height. I may be wrong, you more technologically advance people may be prove me otherwise. If it turns out that the awesome photo I posted does have a height, then I can't figure any other way a 2-D object could exist in our 3-D world. Now, Mrs. Walters calls points and lines 1 dimensional objects. This is most definetely possible. A point and line both have a length and width, even on a computer screen. I don't believe a 1-D object is, or will ever be possible, ever. Now, to end this blog post with a cool little twist, can anyone think of how a 4-D object may exist? What is 4-D? Maybe an object with a length across time? Would this cause temporal impossibilities? Please leave your thoughts in the comments, I hope this post made you think! Also, please don't tell Mrs. Walters what I said here. WOW. I was acually in our nation's capitol all weekend. That was totally worth getting up at 3am for. We saw a ton of stuff. The Capitol, the White House, the fake Supreme Court, the Washington Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Ford's theatre, 1/12 of the Smithsonian, Arlington Cemetary, Fort McHenry, and a lot more. It was an epic trip. I would definetly do it again because there was also a lot of things we didn't have time to see, like the National Spy Museum, or the other 11/12 of the Smithsonian. I didn't buy any real souveniers, but I took over 350 pictures! I hope all of you who didn't go with us will have the chance someday. If you did go, I'm looking forward to your comments!
So Saturday was the Doctor Who fall season finale. IT WAS EPIC. The Doctor, his wife, and his companions battled the weeping angels in Manhattan. The weeping angels are basically these alien statues that try to kill you. When you look at them, they will be still, and normally are either crying or showing off their fangs. But when you aren't looking at them, they will run at you and attempt to kill you and turn you into a weeping angel. This basically means that if the lights go out, you're dead. They also have the power to send you back in time by touching you, which is what they were doing quite often in this episode. In the episode, the angels took over every statue in New York, and hid among the New Yorkers, every now and then tempting them to enter a buliding where they were attacked and sucked of their time energy, which they weeping angels would feed on. I won't reveal any more of the episode in case any of you watch it. Now, you're probably wondering about the title of this post and how it corresponds to this paragraph. Well, I love BBC for broadcasting the show and allowing me to indulge in it's awesomeness, but this was the finale of the fall season, and they only put 5 EPISODES IN THE ENTIRE SEASON. Which means that there will not be another episode until Christmas. I have to wait 3 months for another episode!!! What am I going to do on saturdays? Oh well, I'll survive. I hope you all will think of Doctor Who on Christmas! So, today I felt the need to blog but I had no idea what to write about, so my mind began to wander. I wonder what it would be like to be really small. Like three inches tall. There would be a lot of small spaces that you could hang out in that nobody else would be able to get to. Another huge factor I just thought of is how relative speed is. So, for instance, a person moving at 4mph would probably seem about triple speed to a person of such small size. Also, 1 mile to a normal size person would be extremely elongated to a miniature person. So, it would be difficult to get anywhere really. This thought has really made me further appreciate my height. Well, that's my blog for this week. I feel like this idea could still be further expounded
