So for Christmas I really wanted an ipod touch, the new one. As you all know i do not have a cell phone so an itouch is the closest thing I could get to one until....graduation :'( So my mom kept telling me not to be disappointed if I didn't get what i wanted, but I knew she had to say that to at least try to make it a surprise for me. So I opened my first present from my parents, and it was......an itouch!!! Woohoo!! But there was one problem; it was the old 4th generation. So naturally I was all prepared to return it and pay for the upgrade, but as I was searching for what stores had it I noticed that Target was having it on sale the day after Christmas!! It was $50 off, and you got a $50 gift card to Target when you buy it!! I was so excited. So the next day my mom and I went to Target at 7:00 am, she thought a lot of people might be there so we should get there early....there was NO ONE there. Still, I was able to get the ipod I wanted and I didn't have pay a single cent :D I got the blue one. I originally wanted to get the red one but Target didn't have it, but I still like the blue. My brother got me an adorable coach purse, and my stocking was filled with Vera Bradley, candy and seasons of Glee and New Girl. I also got a pair of fringe boots from Santa...he's the just the best!!:) I also got a super cute scarf. Well I had a great Christmas and I hope everyone else did too!!

So Mrs. DLP has asked me to post a picture of my adorable Dickens Village. So here it is!!! I don't have the whole collection, that would be like thirty houses at least. My dad's side of the family has the collection spread through all of the family members, we all have a little section/piece. I think this might be my favorite Christmas decoration. It is just so cute and when I was younger I remember I would play with all of the pieces and people and pretend like they were going places. I love that Dickens Village, especially when it is lit up at night. It gives me a magical feeling and it just makes me so happy!! :) I am sooooo ready for break to begin!! We all deserve these two weeks off and I am going to savor every waking, and especially sleeping, moment. I am going to wear this really cute black dress tomorrow for fancy day and I can't decide if I should straighten or curl my hair. I think I'll just straighten it because that takes less time. So it's settled, straight hair for Jackie. Now I just don't know if I should wear heels or not. I don't want to seem like I'm trying too hard but those are like the only shoes that really compliment my dress! I'll just wear them, but just know that I'm not trying to hard to look good/fancy. Okay, I can't wait to see how everyone looks tomorrow...ESPECIALLY Emily with her straight hair!!! AHHHH!!! It's going to look amazing...can't wait!!! So here is my Christmas tree. Just saying, this picture does not do it justice. Well actually it's not as cool as I thought. My dad and brother went to the Community Center parking lot place to get it and when they got it they couldn't tell how fat it was because it was all wrapped up. Once the branches came down we realized it was the fattest tree we've ever had. It doesn't even fit through our door anymore!! I take full responsibility for the ornament placement. I think I did a pretty good job. My brother got a little mad though because I put all of my ornaments in the front and his in the back, but hey, if he put them up then he could choose where they go. You probably can't see but there are some ornaments that my brother and I made when we were in preschool and they have our pictures on them and there is the cutest picture of my brother! He had big chubby cheeks and oh my gosh it's so cute! I LOVE decorating the tree. I remember all of the ornaments I love and who got us which ones. Each ornament brings back a happy memory and it makes me so delightful. In case you haven't noticed my tree is also unusually short this year, I'm thinking next year I better come along to make sure we pick a good one, for the first time. (Love that song by the Script!) Everyone better get in the holiday spirit because I totally am and you know that I will be bugging you with Christmas songs until the end of break!! Okay so I just went to my cousin's art show at Wheaton College in Wheaton of course, and it was awesome. She had a trip to Uganda a little bit ago and some orphan kids drew her some pictures. They were really cute and she was instantly inspired by them. So she sort of replicated them on to blocks of wood to be like stamps. Then she found used cloths that are like sheets and died them different colors. She mixed paint or ink or whatever and used the blocks of wood to stamp on images to the canvases. It was honestly so cool she is one of the most art talented people I know, I think she might be more talented than Mr Deines. I know what you're thinking, wow this girl must be good. She's graduating in December and gets to work in Sweden!! I am jealous!! Her last name is Jaderholm, and in case you didn't know that is a very Swedish last name. She has made everything art related from paintings to drawings to clay work; she does it all. I hope I can see some of her art projects again soon because I LOVE going to see art. I really enjoy it and some people say that The Art Institute of Chicago is boring and what not but I find it super cool. It's pretty awesome some of the things that people can make and I enjoy having them shared with me. Bottom line: appreciate the art around you because it truly is beautiful.
Mmmmmm....The scent of warm cookies and fresh pine are the ones that fill my house right at this moment. My mom is knocking out all of our holiday cookies and let me tell you, I think I've gained like five pounds from them. They are AMAZING. She made shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate, lemon ricotta cookies drizzled in a yummy glaze and regular chocolate chip. She is on full Christmas mode today. Next weekend she said there are many more to come....thank you mom!!! I love you for giving me sweet sweet cookies!! I just got my Christmas tree from the Indian Scout sale at the community center. It smells soooo good!! I LOVE the smell of a fresh Christmas tree, it fills me with the greatest joy. Now I don't know when my mom is going to put the lights and all of our ornaments on it, I'm thinking sometime tomorrow but as soon as we get that done I will definitely post a picture. Everyone else better post a picture of their Christmas tree and then comment on a blog I will write for whose is your favorite...that could be fun right? Well I'll see what your thoughts are at school. I think I just heard the oven timer go off, which means another fresh batch of cookies!!! YUMMY!!! Got to go stuff my face with Christmas awesomeness.
Last night my family and I went over to my brother's godmother's house. It was really fun because he family is super funny and her daughter makes me laugh :) So they surprised us with a "fun" craft. It was a gingerbread-making contest. Yeah! So excited! Not really....None of the boys wanted to do it so it was me and Alexa(her daughter) against my mom and Cindy(my bro's godmother). Alexa is this crazy amazingly talented artist, like better than Mr. Deines good. I can't believe how good she is, I thought her colored pencil drawing was a ligit picture. So we basically knocked it out of the park. My mom's gingerbread house kind of fell apart and it was really funny. In case you didn't know, my mom is artistically challenged. The best part was eating the frosting. The frosting we used was like the best frosting I've ever tasted and I ate like half the bag. Then I got a stomach ache but it was definitely worth it. We opened gifts for Christmas(I know it's early but we couldn't meet up any other time) and they got me a Vera Bradley lunch box along with some cute jewelry form A.E. Little did they know that I already have two Vera lunch boxes but I guess three is the charm. I'll probably just return it and try to find something that I don't already have. Hahaha for those that remember my mom and I are obsessed with Vera Bradley. There's our g-bread house...isn't it cool?!?! Those icicles are detailed with sugar to make it look realistic, that is if you couldn't already tell. Alrighty well I'm done so everyone have a fantastic week and I Uggghhhhh. Well here I am in the LRC writing a blog and you know what that means? You guessed correctly...I am back in school. I had the most relaxing and fun break. Oh it was just the best. I slept till' noon almost every day and hung out with my friends and family. But remembering such a good time just makes me sad because now I'm in school and I actually have to try. I don't mind seeing my friends every day but all of the homework and time and efforts can take a toll on a 14 year old girl. I'm just a teenager, and I want to hang out with my friends and play sports 24/7. No school. But since I know that that will probably never happen until I'm old and retired, I guess I'll just have to suck it up for now. I guess school isn't that bad, it stays pretty interesting, especially in LA :) Whatever, I'm just holding out till' Christmas break. I cannot wait!!! I'm going to have the best Christmas EVER!!!! AHHHH!!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!! Good luck getting through the week everyone.
Okay so I was just reading Maura's blog about Monk which reminded me about one of my favorite shows Psych. So the main character Shawn is hyper-observant so he notices every tiny little detail about you. You might have to watch the first episode to understand everything but I'll explain what happens. So this guy Shawn never really grew up and he's so funny. He goes from job to job because he just gets bored. One night he is watching the news about some robbery and just by watching the telecast observes that the owner is nervous or whatever and did it. So he called the police to tell them and it turned out to be right. But now Shawn is in the police station for questioning because the police suspect him to be that accomplice. They think that it's impossible to know who the murderer is just by watching it on the news. He knows that he is about to be arrested for a crime he didn't commit so he tells them that he is a psychic. He notices that a cop down the hall is going over dance steps and congratulates him on his upcoming wedding. He observes a couple of other things about the people there and draws conclusions that are spot on. There is no way that he could have known that because no one at the station knows him so they believe him. Now he opens a psychic detective agency with his buddy Gus. Together they are so hilarious, just ask Lucy she knows what I'm talking about. They take private cases and the Santa Barbara police department asks for their help on numerous cases. So there's the back story, I know it was long sorry about that. Now go out and buy all of the seasons like Maura said for Monk! Buy them together as a package and your life will be sweet. I too already have these seasons of psych like I do for monk and If I can't fall asleep I pull out my personal DVD player and watch this show. No joke, you can come to my house and check my DVD player. Now watch this show and you will understand. I give my Thanksgiving a solid B. It wasn't that great, but it also wasn't terrible so I'm satisfied. We had I think 19 people come over and that's the most that we've ever had. Our isn't that big but big enough to hold everyone. I am sadly the youngest at every single family occasion. So all of the older cousins talk to my brother about college and how much fun it is and where he should go and yada yada yada. Oh, and did I mention that I am the ONLY girl!!! Ughhhh it really does stink but thank god my cousin brought his girlfriend this year. Okay so we made place cards where people should sit because it's a big table and we didn't want people to waste time figuring out where to sit. I though my cousin Nick could sit next to his brother Erik's girlfriend, but then my mom said NO! I guess that Nick and Erik's girlfriend do not get along, I think it's mainly that Nick doesn't like her because he was kind of ignoring her at the party. I love secrets and no one would tell what their problem was so I am still trying to figure it out!! I STUFF myself every Thanksgiving, and I did it again this year. You'd think that eating so much food would put you into a food coma right? Well no. I was up till' about one in the morning trying to fall asleep, it was terrible. But I feel great today and guess what? Tonight I'm going to my family friends' grandpa's 90th birthday party!! Can you believe he is 90 years old!? Well I sure can't. Hope all of your Thanksgivings rocked!!
Okay so as many of you know, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Taylor Swift with a fiery burning passion. Hahaha that last sentence sounded weird..... So my birthday is in September and she is coming next August so my parents said that they would get me T-Swift tickets for my 15th birthday!!! I am sooooooooo excited it is unbelievable. I know all of the words to every single song on her new album Red and it's bonus tracks. She is absolutely AMAZING. She is the best song-writer in the US. She doesn't have as amazing a voice as Adele, but she is still a good singer. I don't know what to wear though, and I know that I have time but what do you guys think? Should I dress up as the girl from the You Belong With Me music video, you know the nerdy girl? I kind of thought that could be funny/cute but I need some input. Marisa being the mean girl that she is (just kidding I love you Marisa! <3) got her tickets on Sunday :( I didn't know about this pre-sale!!! Where did that come from!?!? I researched about the tickets and thought that only pre-sale was going to be on Friday an hour before the tickets come on sale!!! UGGGHHHH!! I just want really godo seats....I'll get back to you guys on where I ended up. Sidenote--isn't she like super duper pretty? I think this girl is gorgeous. Okay have a great week everybody!!! <3 |
