On Saturday, I got my application letter from St. Ignatius, and I am very happy because I have been accepted. Now, I have to do a whole other application process that seems very confusing so I can secure my spot for next year. I also have to take a placement test sometime during 8th grade to determine what classes I will be taking my freshman year. On a completely different topic, the Blackhawks won again last night against the Los Angeles Kings, 3-2. This was an important game because the Blackhawks have played 15 games so far, and each time they have played, they have garnered at least one point in the standings. You can get a point in the standing by either winning a game in regulation, winning a game in overtime/shootout, or losing a game in overtime/shootout. The NHL record for getting at least one point in a game to start a season is 16 games. This record was set during the 2006-07 season by the Anaheim Ducks. They also won the Stanley Cup (the championship) that year. The Blackhawks have their next game on Tuesday when they try to tie the NHL record. They will be playing the Vancouver Canucks at home, and if they do not lose that game in regulation, they will try to set a new NHL record when they play the San Jose Sharks at home on Friday.
