I saw Dark Chocolate Goji Raspberries. In other words, I saw the most delicious (and fattening) thing ever. The bag said something like: sweetened fruit juice pieces made from a blend of goji berry juice and raspberry juice covered in smooth dark chocolate. I have no idea what goji berries are, but they must be good. We bought a bag of them, and I can't keep myself away from them. I have the bag next to me now, while I'm writing this. I'm afraid to look at the nutrition information, because then there would be a limit to how many I can eat. I figure that if I don't look at the serving size, there is no serving size. I can have however many I want...
The other day, my family went to Costco. I can't stand that place. Even though it's a huge warehouse, it just makes me feel claustrophobic. I don't know why, but I also get the feeling that my brain is going to explode. Extreme boredom? Could be. Anyway, we went there, and of course we spent about an hour and a half there. Walking around. Very slowly. Very very slowly. You'd be surprise at how long it takes us to find things there, even though we've been there about a bajillion times. So yes, we walked around and around and around, and then around a few more times, and the only thing for me to do was try the free samples. The problem there is that all the free samples are totally disgusting. I tried rice milk, and I almost threw up. There were some other gross looking things that I didn't even bother to try. Then I saw something.

Yesterday, my whole family had a pool party. We went to my great-aunt's house, put our bathing suits on, and jumped right in to the pool. It was a little chilly for a pool party, but we all had a great time anyway. We got there at about noon, and I didn't waste a second getting into the pool. I love swimming. My little cousins and I were the only ones in the pool, so I made sure that they didn't drown (they said they could touch the bottom so they didn't need floaties, but I still made sure the littlest one stayed near the sides... it made me nervous!). Then my other cousins came. I don't have many cousins that are my age, but that was fine, because once more cousins came, everyone in the pool made teams. There were only three floaty mats, and that wasn't enough. We made two teams, and tried to push each other off of the mats. That's what we did until my older cousin brought a bunch of blow-up balls. I don't know how many there were, but after that, we pretty much just forgot about our teams and tried to throw them at everyone. Then almost everyone left the pool, because it was time to eat. I had already eaten, so I stayed with a few of my little cousins. Until desert time.
The night before the pool party, I made a cake. It was a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting (which is coincidentally my favorite kind of cake...), and I decorated it with M&Ms. I put blue M&Ms across the bottom like water, and yellow M&Ms like a sun. After I made the frosting and frosted the cake, I ate what was left in the bowl. Yum. I brought it to the party, where I had two pieces of it. The party was fun. I swam a lot and ate a lot of cake. There is a downside, though. The fact that I do not tan and I burn badly is very true, and that is very evident when you look at my peeling face. I forget where I was even going, but the other day, I rode down the street, and I saw that out the car window. Yes, that piano. On the side of the road. I'm not sure who's it was, or why they put it on the side of the road, but I thought it was cool, so I went out later and took pictures of it. It was a pretty cool looking piano, and I wonder why they put it out there. Anyway, I thought that it definitely wasn't something I would see every day. The next time I rode past it after taking the pictures, all the wood was taken off the top. It was kind of cool looking like that, and I wanted to take more pictures, but when I rode back, all that was left of it was a pile of wood. There's nothing special about a pile of wood on the side of the road. I didn't take pictures of that, obviously, but I'm glad I took pictures of it when it was still put together. I'm definitely glad I got pictures of it at all, though, because I probably won't see that ever again!
Here are some strange things that I've noticed about this blog, myself, and the world:
Here's something strange about this blog that I never noticed before. If you click on the thing on the sidebar that says RSS Feed, it takes you to a page that is basically your blog, but it looks different. You can also get to this page by clicking a box that says RSS; it is on top of the window, in the box that has the url, and all the way to the right (i'm not sure, but the second way to get to it might only work on Macs). I'm not really sure what that's for, or why it's there, but... it's just something strange that I noticed. Here's something strange that I noticed about myself (this one is a little hard to explain). When I'm having a snack, I sub-consciously count how many pieces it takes. Say I'm having a granola bar. That only takes 1 piece: the granola bar. Now say I'm having a bowl of cereal. That would be 4 pieces: the box of cereal, the bowl, the spoon, and the milk. I have no idea why I do this. Actually, I don't even do it on purpose. I just kind of do. Here's something strange I noticed about the world. It's the only planet in our solar system that sustains life. Actually, I'm not sure about that, but we'll soon see because NASA just landed the "Curiosity" rover on Mars to take pictures and drive around for 2 years. Anyways, Earth is the only planet in our solar system that has humans, or, like, any intelligent civilization or whatever. But there has to be another planet somewhere out there that has humans or something like humans, because space goes forever. There's no end to it. It's not like you're going to fly to the end of space and find a big brick wall. Or maybe you would, but I highly doubt it. Anyway, my point is that there has to be another planet out there somewhere that has humans or something like humans, and it doesn't necessarily have to be in our solar system or our solar system's next-door neighbor. We might never get in contact with them or see them or even know for sure if they're there, but there has to be another planet with a bunch of people just like us, trying to figure out if there's anyone out there. There might be only one other planet like ours, or two or three or four or 500 or a bajillion. Or I might be wrong. Earth might be the only planet in the entirety of space that can sustain this kind of life. If that's true, then we have no idea exactly how lucky we are to have the only planet good enough. In everywhere, in every way for all eternity. Or something like that. When I go about my day, plenty of things happen. They are not always interesting/funny/exciting/meaningful, or anything else. Sometimes the things that happen in a day are completely and utterly boring. Sometimes I wish the things in my day were not happening, or that I was somewhere else or with someone else or doing something else. Sometimes I like the things that happen in my day. Sometimes, I have a "nothing" day, where nothing seems to happen at all.
But things still happen on "nothing" days. The other day, I did nothing. Nothing happened, and nothing changed. Later, when I thought about my "nothing" day, I realized: I did some things, some things happened, and some things changed. Some things I did: I ate. I sat on a chair. I looked out the window. I pet Dusty. Some things that happened: I became bored. Dusty walked around. The phone rang. Some things that changed: My clothes into pajamas. Me being hungry to me being full. Then later, when I thought about it, something else changed: nothing into something. When my "nothing" day was actually happening, I thought of it like this: 'wow, literally nothing is happening today.' When I thought about it later, I thought of it like this: 'hey, I didn't do much yesterday, but I did look out the window for a bit, and pet Dusty. And I ate.' In my mind, I was able to think of some things I did while I wasn't doing anything; I made something out of nothing. I haven't had a "nothing" day since. Sure, I've had days where all I did was sit on a chair, look out the window, pet Dusty, and eat, but I haven't had a day where literally nothing happened. I realized: when I go about my day, plenty of things happen. They are not always interesting/funny/exciting/meaningful, or anything else. Sometimes the things that happen in a day are completely and utterly boring. But those uninteresting, not funny, not exciting, meaningless and boring things that happened... well, they still happened. This is just to let you know that I have added pictures to the post Summer: Weekends! :D
At the beginning of the week, my mom and I started riding our bikes to the Community Center. When we get there, we run on the treadmill and my mom does some other machines. While my mom does the other machines, I go downstairs and play racquetball or go swimming. While I'm running and playing racquetball, though, I have to keep in mind that I still have to ride my bike home. After the Community Center, I'm always pretty tired. That's when we noticed: I needed a new bike. Bad.
As we were riding home from the Community Center, I realized that I was all sore, because the seat of my bike was way too close to the handlebars and I was all cramped up. I also noticed that the wheels were so small I had to peddle about three times as much as my mom to get the same distance. I also noticed that when I peddled the bike, my knees came up past the handlebars. In other words, I was doing way too much work and I looked like a dork. We decided then and there that I definitely needed a new bike. Then, all of a sudden: "Hey, wait a second! My old 10 speed is still hanging up in the garage!" We rode right over to my grandparent's house to see my mom's old bike. It had been hanging upside-down in my grandparent's garage for about 30 years. She said she got it around 1977. And, let me tell you, it was one cool bike. It had really thin tires, like those racing bikes, and it had the cool curvy handlebars. It was a Schwinn, and it looked really old and "retro", as my mom put it. We didn't waste a minute in getting it up to Marty's to see if anything had to be fixed, and he said it would need new tires and tubes (which we kind of figured, since the tires were literally crumbling off of the wheels). He said it would be ready by the end of the week, and it must have been the slowest week in history. I tried to forget about it to make the time go faster, but that really didn't work. I kept remembering as I saw people riding their bikes down the street, and I just couldn't wait. By the time the end of the week rolled around, I couldn't wait another second. We decided that my mom would ride her bike up to Marty's and my grandparents would drive me there, and my mom brought my helmet. My grandparents drove home and my mom and I rode our bikes (or her bikes) home. I loved it, and it was definitely better than my old tiny bike. I'm so happy with my old new bike, and I can't wait to ride it around everywhere!!! |

Picture EditorAs you can see, Dusty helps with the pictures. :D Thanks for being so cute, Dusty! Also, don't get confused. Dusty had darker fur when she was little, but she was tan underneath! Nope, I don't have two dogs. Page PictureThe pictures on the top of this page and on my homepage are pictures I took at the Botanic Gardens, and I thought they went well with this theme, so.... yep!
