I find scary/creepy games fun and exciting and I don't know why. I hate scary books or scary movies but games are a whole different story. I have watched/played Alan Wake and Amnesia (the dark descent) along with others but I have to say, when watching people play Slender, it doesn't look that bad. Then you play it. At night. With the lights off. For those who don't know what the game Slender is, I will explain. It is a game based off the Slenderman story. in the game you have limited controls. You can turn your flashlight on and off, you CAN NOT jump, and you can "jog/sprint". (you have such a small stamina it's almost not worth it. Also when you run, the flashlight points at the ground and causes a freaky breathing noise.) The goal of the game is to collect all 8 pages spread throughout a dark forest. The catch, the notes are places in creepy spots such as on a tree, inside a large, almost maze like compound, or in between large tanks(the liquid kind not the vehicle). Also after you grab Note 1 creepier music plays along with more sound effects such as a drumbeat heart, and both the owls and crickets get louder. As you go along your mad rush to grab the notes, your flashlight starts to die and the more notes you grab the more aggressive Slenderman gets. If Slenderman catches you, your screen will start to fuzz and if you don't run away quick enough he will kill you. Anyway, I played this yesterday and the farthest I got was 6/8 pages. Then I got trapped by the fence. Yay. last night was not a good one sleep wise though I did have adrenaline exhaustion. I still think that the game is great and that if you want to pee your pants, this is the way to go!
Anyone in my family will tell you that I HATE yard work. This year my Dad had me start cutting the lawn, and I tend to try and hide on Sundays so I won't have to. It doesn't work. As much as I don't like cutting the lawn, raking leaves is the worst. Sure they are pretty on trees but they have to fall to the ground. And then I have to clean them up. Anyway, My mom decided me and her should go outside and rake leaves, (this was on Wednesday) and I really didn't have a choice. I decided to get it over with and do my homework afterwords. So I started and got about 1/3 of it done before my mom came and helped. She used the leaf blower. I got the rake. I was NOT happy. Anyway I did most of the raking and my mom ended up putting the leaves in the bag. I also ended up Bringing the bags of leaves all the way back to the alley then. Moral of this story: there isn't one. I just felt like complaining today.
The other day, I asked Conor if he wanted to play a game called Terraria. The game had not been updated for a while and all of our friends used to play it, but the company who made it halted development and it got pretty boring. Anyway, this rarely happens, we "abandon" a game and then come back to it some time later. Normally, if we are ever going to play it again, at least one of us will continue to play it on a regular basis. I was surprised when all of the sudden, me, Conor, Colin, Franklin, and Graham are all playing it again!
If you don't know what Terraria is, A simple explanation is that it's essentially a 2D version of Minecraft with a smaller world and more content but less building. This week my parents left for Canada for a trip and left us with our aunt and uncle. It was arranged so that they came and stayed here so that me and my sister didn't have to worry about getting to school. Anyway, as you may know, I'm sick and I didn't want to go many places so maybe I could try to get better. (hasn't worked) This means we have laid it low for a while but when I started feeling better, (Friday-ish) we decided to go someplace fun. We all chose Gameworks, because we all had had a great time last time we were there. We headed out there Sunday and found out that the "credit and ticket" machines were out of order. We then discussed what to do and got 2 1/2 hour game play cards. (they let you play any number of non-credit games for 1/2 an hour) So me and my sister played TimeCrisis3 and it turns out were decent. After our 1/2 hour was up, they had fixed everything and we got a card with 140 credits on it. We then proceeded to play everything from Dig Dug to Pool to racing games and had tons of fun. After that we went to Ikea and got rained on. Woohoo.
Uh... Wow. That's about all I can say, it was amazing in the capitol. During the 2 1/2 days we were there we saw so much. The day we left I got up at 3:00 and had breakfast so I could be ready to leave. It turned out I got done really fast and had extra time before the bus, so i spent time in my family room and attempted to read. I failed and napped for a while. my mom woke me up at around 4:00 so we could be there by 4:15. I was fairly early and sat next to Graham on the bus to the airport. Surprisingly no one slept on the bus, at the airport, or on the plane, even Graham, who always wakes up at 1:30 pm given the chance was wide awake. When we got there we went to see the pentagon and had lunch. After that we visited some memorials and other places. We got to the hotel at 9:30 and went to bed fairly quickly after. I woke up at 6:15 to take a shower. Conor took one at 6:30, and Franko was supposed to take one at 6:45 but was to tired to. That day we saw the capitol and the White House. We also visited the library of congress and more memorials. After that we headed back to the hotel and messed around there. Monday we were supposed to get up earlier so that we could get a lot done. We did both and visited a few places including the Museum of American History, the Holocaust Museum and then to the airport.
We had dinner at the airport but I wasn't hungry (it was fairly early) and only had some of the snacks I packed. On the plane, both me and Graham got headaches but were mostly fine by the time we made it home. When I got home I did the smartest thing ever... SLEEP! Then the next day I went to school tired. YAY. :) |
