I guess it is a little bit of my fault that I had so much math homework this weekend, but seriously, 11 problems = 2 hours. NOT GOOD. The reason I had so much was that we got some on Wendsday (Halloween) but it was due Friday. I got home on Wendsday and was immediately put to work on cleaning the house for the Halloween party. On Thursday I sat down to do my math, and got through 2/3 of it but I just couldn't figure out the last problem. So I went in early. I didn't finish then either. So I had it over the weekend just like the other 2 worksheets. And of course I forgot until Sunday. Am I smart or am I smart guys?

I find scary/creepy games fun and exciting and I don't know why. I hate scary books or scary movies but games are a whole different story. I have watched/played Alan Wake and Amnesia (the dark descent) along with others but I have to say, when watching people play Slender, it doesn't look that bad. Then you play it. At night. With the lights off. For those who don't know what the game Slender is, I will explain. It is a game based off the Slenderman story. in the game you have limited controls. You can turn your flashlight on and off, you CAN NOT jump, and you can "jog/sprint". (you have such a small stamina it's almost not worth it. Also when you run, the flashlight points at the ground and causes a freaky breathing noise.) The goal of the game is to collect all 8 pages spread throughout a dark forest. The catch, the notes are places in creepy spots such as on a tree, inside a large, almost maze like compound, or in between large tanks(the liquid kind not the vehicle). Also after you grab Note 1 creepier music plays along with more sound effects such as a drumbeat heart, and both the owls and crickets get louder. As you go along your mad rush to grab the notes, your flashlight starts to die and the more notes you grab the more aggressive Slenderman gets. If Slenderman catches you, your screen will start to fuzz and if you don't run away quick enough he will kill you. Anyway, I played this yesterday and the farthest I got was 6/8 pages. Then I got trapped by the fence. Yay. last night was not a good one sleep wise though I did have adrenaline exhaustion. I still think that the game is great and that if you want to pee your pants, this is the way to go!
Anyone in my family will tell you that I HATE yard work. This year my Dad had me start cutting the lawn, and I tend to try and hide on Sundays so I won't have to. It doesn't work. As much as I don't like cutting the lawn, raking leaves is the worst. Sure they are pretty on trees but they have to fall to the ground. And then I have to clean them up. Anyway, My mom decided me and her should go outside and rake leaves, (this was on Wednesday) and I really didn't have a choice. I decided to get it over with and do my homework afterwords. So I started and got about 1/3 of it done before my mom came and helped. She used the leaf blower. I got the rake. I was NOT happy. Anyway I did most of the raking and my mom ended up putting the leaves in the bag. I also ended up Bringing the bags of leaves all the way back to the alley then. Moral of this story: there isn't one. I just felt like complaining today.
The other day, I asked Conor if he wanted to play a game called Terraria. The game had not been updated for a while and all of our friends used to play it, but the company who made it halted development and it got pretty boring. Anyway, this rarely happens, we "abandon" a game and then come back to it some time later. Normally, if we are ever going to play it again, at least one of us will continue to play it on a regular basis. I was surprised when all of the sudden, me, Conor, Colin, Franklin, and Graham are all playing it again!
If you don't know what Terraria is, A simple explanation is that it's essentially a 2D version of Minecraft with a smaller world and more content but less building. This week my parents left for Canada for a trip and left us with our aunt and uncle. It was arranged so that they came and stayed here so that me and my sister didn't have to worry about getting to school. Anyway, as you may know, I'm sick and I didn't want to go many places so maybe I could try to get better. (hasn't worked) This means we have laid it low for a while but when I started feeling better, (Friday-ish) we decided to go someplace fun. We all chose Gameworks, because we all had had a great time last time we were there. We headed out there Sunday and found out that the "credit and ticket" machines were out of order. We then discussed what to do and got 2 1/2 hour game play cards. (they let you play any number of non-credit games for 1/2 an hour) So me and my sister played TimeCrisis3 and it turns out were decent. After our 1/2 hour was up, they had fixed everything and we got a card with 140 credits on it. We then proceeded to play everything from Dig Dug to Pool to racing games and had tons of fun. After that we went to Ikea and got rained on. Woohoo.
Uh... Wow. That's about all I can say, it was amazing in the capitol. During the 2 1/2 days we were there we saw so much. The day we left I got up at 3:00 and had breakfast so I could be ready to leave. It turned out I got done really fast and had extra time before the bus, so i spent time in my family room and attempted to read. I failed and napped for a while. my mom woke me up at around 4:00 so we could be there by 4:15. I was fairly early and sat next to Graham on the bus to the airport. Surprisingly no one slept on the bus, at the airport, or on the plane, even Graham, who always wakes up at 1:30 pm given the chance was wide awake. When we got there we went to see the pentagon and had lunch. After that we visited some memorials and other places. We got to the hotel at 9:30 and went to bed fairly quickly after. I woke up at 6:15 to take a shower. Conor took one at 6:30, and Franko was supposed to take one at 6:45 but was to tired to. That day we saw the capitol and the White House. We also visited the library of congress and more memorials. After that we headed back to the hotel and messed around there. Monday we were supposed to get up earlier so that we could get a lot done. We did both and visited a few places including the Museum of American History, the Holocaust Museum and then to the airport.
We had dinner at the airport but I wasn't hungry (it was fairly early) and only had some of the snacks I packed. On the plane, both me and Graham got headaches but were mostly fine by the time we made it home. When I got home I did the smartest thing ever... SLEEP! Then the next day I went to school tired. YAY. :) The last weekend we (Franklin,Conor, and I) went to American Science and Surplus. The trip was organized by Conor and he invited Franklin and me. I couldn't say no, I mean, I haven't been there in over 2 years and that place has so much weird stuff (black rubber mushroom thingy(rubber stoppers) for 2 cents a piece all the way to a skeleton in full riot gear) There was literally everything. There was an Isle donated to motors. 1 to beakers and other glass equipment. oh, and in one there was a few large cases of Thiorea (not sure how you spell it. you will probably remember it as a strip of paper for last year science. I couldn't taste it so I'm not sure if I can say it's bad tasting.) They had switches and fans and resistors of various types(1 cent a piece). They even had... DUCT TAPE! (that was a surprise huh?) While I was there I got a wire stripper and a on-on switch. I can't wait to go back again and get more useless stuff.
Well, for the past couple of days me, Franko, Conor, Chris (and some others) have been planning to make a go-kartish thing in Electricity and Electronics club (it would be electric) and had plans for most of the parts. I had 2 spare car batteries, we had 2 bikes we could scrap for wheels and other parts and we were all set. So Friday we asked Mr. Moore if he thought it was a good idea. We were more than a little dissapointed when he said it was illegal in Illinois.
He then suggested we make an electric skate-board or something of that effect. (doesn't sound as exciting does it) Anyway I was wondering if any of you people had any ideas of what we could do. Comment if you have 1! Last week Me and my family went up to Wolf river for a camping trip. We weren't the only ones there though because we were the newest addition to a fairly large group that have been camping with each other for quite some time. The people there were Graham's family, his grandparents, some people we had never met before, and Chris' family came late on Saturday. We got there on Friday night at about 7:30 and were greeted by most everyone except for Chris and we helped set up camp (though it was mostly our camp). The "theme" of this year was the Olympics so there were multiple contests and medals were even awarded. We were Italy and we came away with 3 golds and a silver plus the highest gold count. Anyway all we did on the first night was have hot dogs for diner and sit around and do nothing. It was decided i would sleep in a tent with Graham instead of in the camper. One of the tent windows didn't have a cover. It was cold but we made it through... I don't think Graham even noticed the cold because he never woke up... Typical. The next morning I got up and took some pictures for photography. After everyone woke up the kids all headed down to the arcade to see what was up there. we din't spend much time there but instead messed around on the small playground outside. Once we got bored we headed back and found out that we were going to go tubing but first we were going to have the super soaker Olympic games. The first one was to knock a ping pong ball off a waterbootle. I won. YAY! The next event was to push a beach ball a distance with the water guns. I won that too. The third and final game with the guns was a fight were you had to disolve the other person's alka seltzer first. I won that too! That's how we got the 3 golds. Then we went to go rafting. We prepared and headed out by bus. once we got there we realized the water was lower than we thought. The trip started out by the group getting tied together (on purpose) and the getting close lined by a pillar we disconnected and met up on the other side. We floated through a large area of rocks and got stuck 2 more times before we made our way through. Later we had lunch and then me, my sister, and Graham disconnected and went through the rest of the river. and got stuck many more times. we also got to drag Graham over many rocks. The rest of the day was pretty boring until the evening when we watched the season premier of Dr. Who (after Chris arrived of course). The next day we went tubing again and Chris and his bro came while Graham stayed behind. It was fun and I accidently almost killed a fish, but I caught it with my hands. It's eyes were huge and it looked scary underwater. Other than that the tubing was kind of uneventful. We didn't do much the rest of the day except to visit the arcade again. One of the machines, which Graham had been farming prizes off, was broken so we tried some of the other games. One of them had a mp3 watch as the grand prize, and Graham really wanted it. After spending about $6 on it ($0.50 per play) he gave up (even though he was really close) because he ran out of money. as we were about to leave, Some kid came up and just won the watch first try. Graham was disappointed to say the least. That evening we had a great dinner of spaghetti and meatballs and watched some movies. Then we went to bed and packed up the next day. Overall, a great trip and i hope we do it again next year!
Hello again, I have another late post! About a week ago me and my family went to see Cirque Shanghai and I'm pretty sure I can't do it justice (between my writing skills and the fact that it's so awesome). Anyway Ill try. First off there was a huge into with basically everyone in the cast doing weird stuff (I don't know how else to describe it) while praising an emperor or something to that effect. That quickly melted into the standard act of them jumping through different sized hoops (mostly small) at the same time or doing weird things.
Then it went to an act in which on of the woman climbed a "curtain" and did tricks while holding on to it while a man spun her. 4th act was the one I showed on the picture bar up top. It was amazing because to stack the chairs like that they needed to get up on the first person and crawl their way up to the top. Then they caught a chair that was thrown up to them from ground level and stack the chair on top of the previous one. Then it repeated. After that there was a tightrope act that was cool too. The man sung almost 180 degrees back and forth while on a unicycle. After that they had an act with bicycles in which 15 people got on 1 bicycle. It was insane. The final act was the "Ball of Doom" as my dad called it. In the act 4 motorcycles1 by 1 enter a steel mesh ball about 20 ft. in diameter and rode in different patterns. 2 rode parallel to the ground and the other 2 did loops between them. Don't believe me? Look it up. It was obviously a large case of best for last. It was awesome and if you ever get a chance to see Cirque at all, do it. It's great. |
